Our 2021 Shiraz is a testament to the unique character of Talits Estate. Nestled in the fertile volcanic soils of the Hunter Valley’s Broke Fordwich region, our family-owned boutique vineyard is where this elegant and medium-bodied Shiraz thrives. Crafted by our award-winning Winemaker, Daniel Binet, this wine has been shaped by a cool vintage and 13 months of French oak aging. The result is a stylistically Hunter Valley Shiraz with tight and lengthy acidity, a savory palate, and balanced tannins softened by intense notes of black forest fruits. This wine is a delight to drink now but promises to evolve beautifully over the next 5-10 years with careful cellaring.

Our 2022 Cabernet Merlot is another gem from Talits Estate, reflecting the essence of our volcanic soils. Also produced by Daniel Binet, this elegant and medium-bodied wine has undergone a 6-day skin contact open vat fermentation, followed by a secondary malolactic fermentation and 10 months of maturation in 3-year-old French oak. It offers a delightful bouquet and palate with hints of blueberry, cherry tomato, and wild raspberry, accompanied by balanced tannins and acidity. Enjoy it now, or let it develop gracefully over the next 5 years with proper cellaring.

The 2019 Il Gallo Canaglia, named for its rebellious spirit, is a blend of premier Sangiovese and Merlot grapes from the foothills of Broke Fordwich. Unlike our friends in Tuscany, we believe that a 50:50 blend is just right. Gracefully old and low-yielding vines have produced a dry and savory wine with balanced tannins, gentle oak, and elegant notes of cherry, raspberry, and tomato leaf. You can even enjoy it slightly chilled if you desire. This wine has earned a Bronze Medal at the Australian & New Zealand Boutique Wine Show.

Our 2021 Vin De Villages – Tempranillo is a testament to the community and winemaking spirit of Broke Fordwich, where passionate viticulturists and winemakers collaborate. This Tempranillo boasts notes of red berries, plum, fruit cake, tobacco, vanilla, and cloves, elegantly structured with bright acidity and gentle oak integration. Handpicked in Broke Fordwich, it embodies the spirit of the village.

Finally, our 2018 Single Estate Merlot, awarded 92 Points by James Halliday and recognized as a Medal Winner at The Hunter Valley Boutique Wine Show in 2019, is an elegant and medium-bodied wine. Crafted through a 10-day skin contact open vat fermentation, followed by a secondary malolactic fermentation and maturation in French Ermitage oak barriques over 15 months, this Merlot presents plum, blackberry, and mint chocolate on both the nose and palate. With balanced tannins and acidity, this wine can be savoured now and will continue to develop over several years of careful cellaring.
