Vineyard Notes | November 2025 with Dave Grosser

From the Vigneron’s desk, a quiet view across the vineyard tells the story of a warm and restless month.

The vines have reached bunch closure in the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while the Merlot berries swell to pea size. Canopies are full, trimmed, and holding strong under the season’s heat.

November brought more than its share of dry days — over half the month above 30 degrees — with the soil beginning to feel the strain. A single storm late in the month offered brief relief, but irrigation now takes the lead, with inputs adjusted daily to keep pace with wind and warmth.

The new Pinot Gris vines are beginning to show themselves beyond their guards — small green signs of promise — while the Gamay continues its slow emergence, steady but shy.

From up here, glass in hand, the view is equal parts beauty and quiet work.

Introducing our new vineyard map - a little visual guide to help answer one of the questions we hear most often: Where exactly do the wines come from? 🍇

Each block is now marked by varietal and clone, offering a glimpse into the layout of the vineyard and the thoughtful planting behind every bottle.

You’ll also spot the “parcelles en préparation” - parcels currently resting. Once home to Chardonnay, these sections are now gently grazed by our alpacas and sheep, with a family of swans keeping watch by the dam’s edge.

In time, these resting parcels will be replanted, likely with more of the varieties you already know and love - and perhaps something new too.

We’re proud to share not just our wine, but the story of where it begins.

Vineyard Notes | October 2025
The vineyard is in full bloom, and the rhythm of spring continues. 🌸🍇

Flowering is now complete across the estate. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have reached fruit set, while the Merlot lingers a little longer in bloom, each variety moving to its own quiet tempo.

October brought dry skies and high winds, with gusts sweeping through the vines and reshaping the air. Rain returned only in the final week, along with heavy dews and rising humidity, a reminder of how quickly the season can shift.

Foliage wires have been lifted in the Pinot and Chardonnay, giving the young canopies space to rise. The vines are healthy, clean, and steadily progressing.

We also welcomed our newest arrivals. Pinot Gris and Gamay are now in the ground. Early signs are slow, particularly for the Gamay, but we’ll be watching closely.

In the vineyard, every detail matters.
